Team StarKid have released two huge announcements today! First, Holy Musical B@man will premiere on April 13th, so get psyched for that!
Second, StarKid are embarking on tour once again! The APOCALYPTOUR will take off on May 9th in Chicago and finish up on June 10th in New York City, touring all around the US!
According to the link above, the StarKids that will be included on this tour are: Jaime Lyn Beatty, Joey Richter, Brian Holden, Brian Rosenthal, Lauren Lopez, Jim Povolo, Meredith Stepien, Dylan Saunders, and Joe Walker.
Tickets will go on sale on April 17th. This time there are two VIP ticket opportunities—the ‘Golden Idol,’ which includes an autograph session, poster, and lanyard, and then the ‘Crystal Skull,’ which includes a meet-and-greet with photos, a poster, lanyard, and concert program. Holy Musical B@man will be introducing 4 new additions to the StarKid team. Here’s a little more about them!
1. Scott Lamps (co-composer)
Scott is an award-winning songwriter and producer, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a BM in Music Composition. He has worked on various theatre projects as well as films. You can listen to some of his compositions here.

2. Nick Gage (co-composer)
You may recognize Nick Gage from the Funtastic Slamaganza, when he came out with Meredith and played a couple songs, or from this music video starring Denise Donovan. He’s a songwriter and composer living in Chicago, and close friends with the StarKids.

3. Nico Ager (actor)
Nico is very close friends with the StarKids, and went to college with them at UMich, studying theatre. He graduated from UMich in 2009 and now lives in Chicago. You can find him in various photos of the StarKids floating around the internet, including this one (standing next to Darren).

4. Jeff Blim (actor)
Jeff Blim also went to UMich with the StarKids, studying theatre and jazz. He graduated in 2007. You can view his demo reel here. He’s been in musicals such as All Shook Up and Footloose.

So join us in celebrating/poking-fun-at everyone’s second favorite superhero (right after Spider-man)!
Holy Musical B@man! will be performed 4 times in Chicago at the Hoover-Leppen Theatre on March 22-24 for free. Tickets can be won through lottery at this link. The YouTube version of the show will be released in April. Cast list:
Seems like the StarKids are gearing up to announce something big on Twitter today! Any ideas on what it could be?
Julia Albain, Denise Donovan, Lauren Lopez, and Jaime Lyn Beatty have started a new project: glow*. It’s designed to make girls feel inspired, and to stop bullying and start making changes. According to their website:
We’ll be sharing with you things that we love; videos, songs, and stories that inspire, and hope that you will share your own loves back. We’ll be launching online campaigns and partnering with other organizations that you can get involved in to spread the glow*. We’ll be hosting live events in where we can all meet up and interact, bond, grow together, and most importantly: share the glow*.

Ascendio 2012 has a lot of StarKid-related things going on at their conference this year from July 12-15 in Orlando! Britney Coleman, Tyler Brunsman, Matt Lang, Nick Lang, Devin Lytle, Joe Moses, Jim Povolo, Brian Rosenthal, Dylan Saunders, and Nick Strauss will all be attending the conference this year.
